Hi, I'm Aashi Kaur Labana, a California based artist whose work is shaped by wonder of life. I am heavily inspired my loved ones, Punjabi American background and Sikh heritage.
I've been painting since I was six years old, when my father gifted me my very first paint set. This quickly lit a spark, a lifelong passion and a way for me to explore, understand, and share the world around me.
I was born in New York City, a place that remains deeply connected to my heart. Much of my family still lives there, and their love, stories, and resilience continue to shape who I am.
I'm endlessly drawn to life's perfectly imperfect moments and the beauty that can be found within them. Through my work, I hope to capture the quiet magic of everyday life the fleeting interactions, emotions, and connections that often go unnoticed yet ultimately define our experiences. Grabbing coffee with a close friend, a walk with your mom, a laugh that leaves your stomach sore.
I'm especially interested in telling these stories through diverse perspectives, celebrating the richness, complexity, and humanity of people whose experiences deserve to be seen, remembered, and honored. Through my work, I strive to capture the essence of those moments and the emotions they hold. I'm drawn to the quiet tenderness of everyday life, the connections between people, and the stories that exist beneath the surface. I want my art to celebrate a wide range of experiences and perspectives, creating space for viewers to see themselves, their loved ones, and their communities reflected in the work.
Whether you're discovering a painting that speaks to you, following along on my artistic journey, or exploring future projects and collections, I'm grateful you're here.
Welcome to my corner of the world!
